About The Position

The Plan Examiner will provide technical plans examination on residential and commercial projects ensuring conformance with all adopted codes and ordinances.

Requirements

Requires an Associates degree
Minimum of four (4) years of related experience
ICC Certification (Residential Plans Examiner and Commercial Building Plans Examiner) required within 12 months of hire.
A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

Prepare technical review comments on residential and commercial plans.
Participate in pre-development meetings and provide professional code assistance and interpretations as well as attend weekly Plan Review Status meetings.
Meet with design professionals and the development community.
Perform plan intake and completeness review on residential and commercial projects.
Actively monitor Infor and/or other department databases to ensure plans are reviewed and processed within the established timeframes.
Maintain established plan review performance standards, residential (3 working days) and commercial (10 working days).
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
