About The Position

Pizza Cooks are responsible for providing quality culinary experiences for guests. The position will require the ability to perform a variety of tasks within the kitchen and will require a basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and preparing pizzas. The position will work in close collaboration with colleagues and follow established health and safety standards and enhance the service and goals set by Antelope Point Marina.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 16 years old
  • Valid Arizona Food Handler’s Certificate required prior to start or within the timeframe required by local county health department regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Must adhere to company dress code and maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food preparation.
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment such as wood fire ovens, food processors.
  • Knowledge of APM marina services and amenities.
  • Guest relation skills which allow calm, effective, polite and professional resolution of guest problems or concerns.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in emergency response.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in recyclable materials.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in blood borne pathogen awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage safety practices.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage products and preparations.
  • This position requires reading, writing, and communicating fluently in English to convey pertinent information with guests and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a pizza or fast-casual kitchen is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work quickly in a fast paced environment and ensure kitchen standards are met.
  • Accountability for food products and the culinary experience of guests.
  • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to to established recipes and standards.
  • Operate pizza oven and other equipment to bake pizzas to perfection, ensuring proper temperature and cooking times.
  • Skillfully apply toppings to pizzas in an aesthetically pleasing and evenly distributed manner.
  • Ensure that pizzas meet quality standards in terms of taste, appearance, and portion size.
  • Monitor and restock ingredients and supplies needed for pizza preparation.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Collaboration with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders, and address customer inquiries or special requests related to pizzas.
  • Posses the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned.
