Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), with a minimum 1-year vocational-technical training in drafting and design. This includes a working knowledge of fundamental CADD and 3D software.
• The incumbent will be required to finish the Drafting and Design degree.
• This position does not require a minimum level of work experience.
• The incumbent however should have a working knowledge of drafting procedures and 3D design software.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts such of basic algebra and geometry.
• Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple engineering and construction drawings from sketches or verbal instructions utilizing manual or CADD techniques.
• Prepares drawings from markups, charts and tables.
• Performs related fundamental engineering such as updating lists, preparing deliverables, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, etc.
• May utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc.
• Support other Disciplines as required.
