About The Position

The Pipeline Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Dugan Production Corp.’s pipeline systems, ensuring safe and efficient transport of oil, gas, and associated liquids. Working independently in the field, this position performs required LDAR inspections, responds to leaks or spills, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, and supports production operations. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring pipeline integrity, environmental protection, and operational reliability across all assigned locations and right-of-ways.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of production equipment, pipeline operations, and the flow of oil, gas, and liquids.
  • Ability to perform independent troubleshooting and maintenance of field pipeline systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, LDAR tools, and pipeline testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, GIS applications, and inspection procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Strong attention to safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance and perform field work in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform field measurements.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently across large field areas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous oilfield pumping, operating, or pipeline maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with production equipment and pipeline flow systems strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all LDAR inspections at required intervals and document results in GIS systems.
  • Identify, report, and when possible repair minor leaks or spills; complete re-inspections following repairs.
  • Respond to reported pipeline leaks or spills; direct field personnel on isolating affected lines; document and report within GIS applications.
  • Obtain and maintain all certifications for DPC LDAR equipment.
  • Assist production personnel with leak detection, line locating, pipeline isolation, and related support tasks.
  • Operate Crystal gauge for hydrostatic testing of vessels and pipelines and ensure all results are accurately recorded.
  • Complete and document calibrations of LDAR equipment according to emissions compliance standards.
  • Locate and resolve oxygen issues within pipelines and conduct purging as needed.
  • Enter and respond to New Mexico One Calls, accurately locating and marking pipelines.
  • Ensure pipelines are clear of liquids or obstructions by pigging or sweeping lines.
  • Stand by during encroachments near DPC pipelines to ensure no damage occurs to facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
