JOB SUMMARY Job Profile Summary Perform duties related to scheduling and coordinating field maintenance and inspection with pipeline control on transmission, gathering, storage and processing systems. Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Requirements

  • Experience interacting and communicating effectively
  • Ability to: learn basic pipeline control operations, hydraulics and optimization terminology and processes that concern pipeline flow principals and natural gas or natural gas liquids characteristics
  • Ability to: apply basic math and algebraic formulas
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft Excel and Access with the ability to learn Maximo
  • Ability to: read and interpret rules, regulations, reports and manuals
  • Ability to: compile, prepare, enter, and/or disseminate information and reports
  • Ability to: develop information and make presentations to groups and individuals, including written and verbal information and instructions

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling of alarm audits with the following groups: pipeline control, field operations, supervisory control and data acquisitions system (SCADA), leak detection and scheduling so they are conducted minimizing downtime and interruption to a pipeline
  • Review and audit alarms to ensure accuracy and consistency which includes: Verifying alarm descriptions and priority were correct with pipeline control and field operations Updating alarm database in Access and Maximo
  • Review and communicate performance of Department of Transportation (DOT) checkouts
  • Maintain records and reports required for compliance purposes
  • Utilize computers and SCADA displays to develop knowledge of pipeline control operations including, but not limited to Nomination confirmations and changes System pressures and adjustments to accommodate weather conditions and operation objectives Start/stop of receipt/delivery flows and compressors or pumps Pipeline system load requirements Storage injections and withdrawals Transportation imbalances
