About The Position
Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) , a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings for the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Cylinder Shop Assistant to perform various duties in our cylinder/pipe department.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude; willing to take ownership of assigned duties.
- A strong, team-first attitude is essential.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills as necessary.
- Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and environments where dust is present.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cylinder shot blast machine.
- Produce a smooth finish on all company products as directed, using surface grinders.
- Operate a flux core welder machine.
- Ensure pipe is marked properly according to company procedures.
- Perform other tasks throughout the shop as assigned by the supervisor.
- Utilize forklift operator skills for moving equipment and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including general housekeeping duties.
