About The Position

The Production Operator III (Davenport) is to perform advanced set-ups, train less skilled employees, troubleshoot and operate production machines to achieve all company targets and standards. Must be able to run at least 3 production machines such as Broach, Fillet Roll, Shave A, Traub and Groove. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirements represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. Independently sets-up, operates and maintains 3 or more automatic machines according to detail blueprints, specifications, work orders and instructions to meet or exceed production schedules. Selects and obtains proper material and tooling for the job. Checks tooling and reworks as needed to manufacture part to print specification. Maintains correct dimensions of parts while running the job using measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and gauges, inspects completed parts to ensure they meet blueprints/specifications. Able to train others with automatic machines, operations and techniques as needed. Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes required adjustments. Verifies dimensions of groundwork piece for conformance to specifications. Able to recognize, identify, perform, and troubleshoot machine operations in manufacturing for improved quality and tooling life. Disassembles, rebuilds, and aligns machinery, tools and equipment. Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams. Moves controls to set specified speeds, feed rates, and spacing between faces. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and use shop and measuring tools. Relies on blueprints and job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances. Demonstrated ability and competencies to use SPC and shop floor data collection systems. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Participate and maintain LEAP and APU/GAP standards Participate and engage in the PSM1 meetings, reporting any ongoing and long-term problems you encounter. Sustain actions regarding projects and workshops Adheres to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, practices, and procedures. Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures. Responsibility for complying with ISO 14001standards, aspects, directives and impact as related to the HSE policy commitments. Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to always reporting requirements and safe operating procedures. Required to identify and alert any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately. Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results. Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as EMS and recycling opportunities to elimination of production waste Works under limited supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Working experience in fastener manufacturing environment
  • Advance knowledge of various automatic machinery and procedures
  • Working knowledge with quality and SPC.
  • A minimum of 7+ year’s equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and basic technical procedures.
  • Ability to write basic reports and instructions to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and standard units of measurements.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats.
  • Ability to perform and apply different problem-solving techniques, handle internal/external situations and multi-task functions.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word; SPC, and departmental applications (Shop Floor System).
