About The Position

Pickleball Professional Instructor will focus on developing and enhancing our pickleball teaching and coaching program to improve participants’ pickleball skills and abilities. The position includes developing a schedule for instruction, instructing lessons, classes, and clinics. Provide leadership to the pickleball program and ensure a safe environment with pristine courts, facilities, and equipment maintained for the highest delivery of the program. Who Are We? Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program. Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to attendance records, rosters, etc. Manages all equipment. Maintains a clean and risk-free environment. Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents. Ensures all children are picked up by a parent. Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person. Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill
  • Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
  • Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
  • Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
  • Familiar with the game of Pickleball including a mastery of the game and the ability to teach and share the sport with others
  • IPTPA Certified Teaching Professional or PRO Level PPR Certification
  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
