About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. They provide vascular access device insertion, post-access support (including declotting, line removal, port access, and venous access troubleshooting), and continuing education. VTP is seeking Registered Nurses with ultrasound-guided IV experience for full-time positions, with PICC line training provided for those without prior PICC experience. Opportunities are also available for experienced PICC RNs (Per Diem or Full-Time). As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with customer clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, working in various settings (hospital or outside) depending on referrals, offering a unique opportunity to observe diverse treatment protocols and patient challenges. This role is presented as an alternative to demanding 12-hour shifts, offering a chance to provide quality care without constant rushing.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care
  • Experience in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions
  • Fully trained vascular access nurse

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
  • Visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs
