About The Position

As a Part-time Physician, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of medical conditions to improve patient health outcomes. You will provide comprehensive care by conducting thorough patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options. Ultimately, your expertise and compassionate care will contribute to enhancing the quality of life for diverse patient populations, especially those at risk or or experiencing homelessness.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in a relevant medical specialty.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Virginia
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and healthcare regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training or additional certifications in subspecialties relevant to the practice area.
  • Board certification or eligibility in the chosen specialty.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and community health settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed patient histories and physical examinations to assess health status.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to identify medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organization standards.
