About The Position

The Kansas City VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time board certified Urologist. The Urologist provides surgical treatment with urologic injuries and diseases, performs a full range of complete Urological surgical procedures, diagnostic, management, and illness-related counseling services to the Veteran population served by this facility. They assure the provision of high quality and safety patient care both in and outside of the operating room. Participate in and/or manages all aspects of a Urology Surgery Program, to include clinical and administrative including diagnosing, treating and managing patients with urological diseases per standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Perform administrative duties related to patient care management including: entering progress notes, histories and physicals, discharges summaries and consults, etc. Use electronic medical records. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Nursing, Anesthesiology, Mid-Level Surgical Providers, and medical support staff to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of patient care services. Provide guidance to Urology Mid-Level provider(s). Participate in service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program. Participate in resident training. Other services include but are not limited to: treatment of genitourinary medical conditions, performing outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures, provide consultations, work ups and pre-& postoperative care.

Requirements

  • Full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Board certified Urologist
