Coordinator Supervisors are responsible for the supervision of office personnel related to the coordination of provider orders and needs, patient visit notification, diagnostic test ordering, and results management as well as aiding patients ’ caregivers, home health agencies, hospices, post-acute providers, pharmacies and other medical providers. A Coordinator Supervisor’s responsibilities may involve medical and social service activities and correspondence. The position requires initiative, strong management, creative problem resolution, time management, excellent phone and electronic communication skills, service excellence, a desire to educate colleagues, and a passion to work within a practice that centers around and with a geriatric population.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant
  • 1 or more years of experience working as a Clinical Coordinator
  • 1 or more years of experience in the medical field, medical office, or other related position
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Complete required work daily
  • Cope with work involving ill, disabled, and terminal patients
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree
  • Management experience in a clinic or healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Educate, precept, and provide training for orienting Clinical Coordinators
  • Maintain accurate and organized filing systems and patient medical records
  • Serve as a resource regarding available health, social services, and other care resources available to patients, caregivers, employees, and providers
  • Receive and review incoming and outgoing patient information correspondence and determine proper action
  • Communicate with patients and families, including answering program telephones, triaging patient needs, and communicating this information to the providers in a timely manner
  • Accept patient and/or family complaints and work to resolve them in accordance with policy
  • Provide ongoing education and training to other Clinical Coordinators
  • Provide back-up assistance for other clerical positions and perform routine office support duties
