PCPs are expected to treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data, and offer continuous support and health management advice. No Obstetrics Clinic Hours are Monday – Friday 7:30-5 After hours call service 18 – 22 patients per day (pending complexity) Laboratory services on-site State-of-the-art technology with integrated EMR and electronic prescribing No admitting; No nights

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) required
  • current State of Georgia License in good standing.
  • Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine required.
  • Current Georgia Medical License required.
  • Valid DEA required.
  • Completion of a family practice/internal medicine residency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Caring, attentive nature.
  • Possess a working understanding and support of a managed care environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and maintain relationships with various health plans.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations to support business needs as required

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must remain in compliance with all rules and regulations set by Georgia Composite Board based on the Georgia Medical Practice Act.
  • Educating patients in health management and disease prevention.
  • Support the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines
  • Provide appropriate patient education
  • Assume responsibility for day-to-day supervision of physician assistants/nurse practitioners
  • Participate in medical staff peer review process, performance improvement, continuing education, risk management and Clinical Indicator selection
  • When appropriate, assist clinical personnel in their evaluation of phone calls and determining appropriate disposition
  • Utilizes EMR Allscripts/Veradigm to document in the Health Record
  • Promote continuity of patient care by interacting and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team
