Primary Care Sports Medicine MD Ochsner Health – Sports Medicine Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Primary Care Sports Medicine MD. As a leader in comprehensive athlete care, we provide world-class services to athletes of all levels – from professional to middle school. Our institute is home to the largest athletic training program in the region, with over 60 Athletic trainers in the greater New Orleans region dedicated to serving the needs of professional, collegiate, high school, and middle school athletes. We offer a full spectrum of services, including sports therapy, nutrition, psychology, and performance training, ensuring athletes receive exceptional care and support. Position Highlights: • Clinical Sites: The primary sites for this position include the Elmwood Clinic and a satellite clinic in the greater New Orleans area. • Team and Support: The Primary care sports medicine program is supported by a diverse team of orthopedic nurses, medical assistants, Sports medicine Assistants, and certified therapists, ensuring comprehensive patient care. • Academic and Research Opportunities: Ochsner has a residency program and is involved in research. This is a clinical and educational focused position, yet the ideal candidate will also pursue academic and research efforts. Affiliation with several medical schools means there will be opportunities for teaching and collaboration. • Call Rotation: There is no call associated with this position. • Official Health Care partner of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans • The practice location is an Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine campus inclusive of a Sports Medicine clinic, physical therapy clinic & Orthopedic specialty hospital with 8 dedicated operating rooms & 15 inpatient rooms. • Comprehensive research program in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, combined research opportunities with Andrews Research and Education Foundation • Onsite Wet Lab training facility • Xavier University of Louisiana and Ochsner Health are teaming up to open a new medical school, the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine. This historic school will be the only HBCU medical school in the Gulf South when it opens.
