About The Position

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. The incumbent will be responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled in the GCVHCS. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrates competent and effective oral and written communication. This individual is delegated the responsibility in his/her area of expertise to assume major medical, consultative, educational, and administrative duties related to the delivery of pain related care and clinical concerns found in these evaluations. Reviews high risk patients and work with Primary Care Providers (PCP) to create a plan of care to treat patient's pain and related issues. Assists/guides in identifying actionable findings including but not limited to lack of naloxone, lack of urine drug screening, not engaged in Behavioral Health (BH), lack of signed opioid informed consent, and lapse in general care. Collaborates with clinical and administrative support to provide timely, quality coordinated care for Veterans. Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care, procedures, methods and techniques, safety precautions and protocols in their application to this population in all settings. May be responsible for supervising and teaching medical residents and students once board-certified. Collaborates with other healthcare resources to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
