The Physician Practice Manager provides values-based leadership to assigned areas and services of responsibility by providing direction, advice and oversight in areas of operations, clinical care and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Administrator, provides leadership and supervision of clinical and support staff within assigned areas and services. Assigned areas of responsibility include the following clinical and support functions/services: physician practice, patient access, telehealth. Accountable for all aspects of the assigned services’ performance including development and maintenance of the high-performance culture and positive work environment required to drive quality care and optimal patient outcomes, patient experience, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship (to patient and Shriners Children’s). Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and supervising all staff and activities related to areas of responsibility, including oversight of identified process improvement opportunities. Identify, implement, and monitor improvement opportunities to create operational efficiencies, care enhancements, growth opportunity and strategic alignment, including resource optimization and advancements inpatient care. Effectively engages with others in change management and organization transformation, developing a collaborative relationship within facility, market and system We have an opportunity for a Full-Time, Physician Practice Manager in our Central Oahu Clinic. This is a exempt and benefits eligible position. The pay range for this position is $107931.00.yr - $185016.00/yr. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field
  • 3 years leadership experience in a healthcare setting

Nice To Haves

  • Master degree in business or related field
  • At least 1 year experiece in either Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Burn care, Cleft lip and palate.
  • Experience with OUtpatient Clinic Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Directs continuous improvement in department processes and services that support relevant system initiatives, using quality improvement processes and assessment tools to better identify and serve customer needs.
  • Holds oversight responsibility of department performance improvement plan, risk management program, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Oversight of department policy management and risk management systems.
  • Retains staff by assessing staff satisfaction, develops and strategies to address satisfaction issues, promotes retention, and rewards and recognizes staff appropriately.
  • Understands and assures compliance with various labor laws including state scope of practice, federal and state HR and Wage and Hour laws such as payment of overtime and FMLA.
  • Provides input into capital budget requests considering hospital strategic plan, as well as annual goals and objectives.
  • Masters concepts of capital budgeting including financial definitions for capital categories, depreciation, justification, and return on investment (ROI) and return on asset (ROA). Able to perform cost-benefit analysis.
  • Understands the health insurance environment and leads team to capitalize on opportunities for good stewardship in managing fiscal resources.
  • Demonstrates a long-term view of where the department is going and integrates this view with SHC vision.
  • Demonstrated the commitment to work through conflicts to achieve the best possible outcome for those involved.
  • Manages personal growth and development through educational advancement, continuing education, professional association membership and involvement, career planning and annual self-assessment and action plans.
  • Interacts with physicians and clinical staff on patient care issues.
  • Solicits input from the medical staff, patients, families, peers and executives for coordinating effective patient care.
  • Accountable for planning, directing, organizing clinical practice, patient care and patient flow.
  • Works with physician (dyad) partner(s) to develop improvements to address patient/family’s needs, improve efficiency, and productivity.
