About The Position

Exciting opportunity to join the inaugural Ascension Seton OB Hospitalist group in Austin, Texas! As we prepare for the grand opening of our state-of-the art Women's Health Tower at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin - a facility designed to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care across the spectrum of women's health - we are establishing a dedicated Obstetric Hospitalist Program. This team will enhance safety, continuity, and patient satisfaction through 24/7 onsite obstetric coverage at 2 sites and weekend coverage at a third site. The Obstetric Hospitalist will provide round-the-clock inpatient obstetric care, ensuring immediate availability for labor and delivery triage, emergent obstetric events, and inpatient consultations. The ideal candidate is a board-certified/board - eligible OB/GYN who thrives in a fast paced environment and is committed to deliver high quality, evidence based care. Position Highlights: 3 site choices - Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, Texas and Dell Children's Medical Center Special Delivery Unit Flexible scheduling models available including 12 or 24-hour shifts Full-time, part-time or PRN available Anticipated commitment of service of this group to each of the 3 sites includes: Dell Children's Medical Center - 24/7, 7 days/week; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - Friday, 5pm to Monday, 8am; Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin - 7pm to 7am weekdays, Friday, 7pm to Monday, 7am. Compensation is per hour determined by acuity level of the patients: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin - 200/hr; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - 180/hr; Dell Children’s Medical Center - 150/hr Professional liability coverage with tail. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOG
  • Current Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start date
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an OB hospitalist or in high-acuity obstetrics preferred but not required.
