About The Position

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs. Our mission is to provide excellent healthcare to American Indians. We do this by putting people first, providing quality services, and maintaining our Integrity and Professionalism. We are seeking an Internal Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for adults, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role collaborates with clinical staff to develop individualized treatment plans, promotes preventive health, and ensures high-quality, evidence-based care for the adult patient population. Requirements

  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values
  • Must hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have documentation of completion of residency in Internal Medicine from an accredited residency program.
  • Must hold an unrestricted professional license in the State of Oklahoma
  • Must be Board-certified or Board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Current CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive ambulatory medical services within the scope of Internal Medicine for the purpose of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
  • Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.
  • Determines the nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity programs, as indicated by diagnosis.
  • Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated.
  • Assists clinic administration in developing and implementing programs relevant to providing health care for Native Americans served by the clinic.
  • Participates in appropriate in-service education programs for health professionals at the clinic.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient data and information.
  • Maintains licensure and appropriate certifications.
