About The Position

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all. The experienced Physician is responsible for providing and managing quality health care services to patients of Marin Community Clinics.The Physician provides quality care to patients consistent with his/her training and expertise, and appropriate to the ambulatory care setting provided. Physician performs as a primary care provider (PCP) with a patient panel. Floating requirements: Home Clinic is in San Rafael, CA. This position requires floating to the Larkspur/Greenbrae CA clinics. Signin Bonus - $100k-$120k Signing bonus available for select applicants (specific program terms apply). Requirements

  • Must have a current California Physician MD/DO medical license to practice.
  • Physician with three 3-5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical facility.
  • Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses/Medical Board of California.
  • Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs.
  • Current BLS certification and current national certificate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to see an average of 20 patients per day for Full Time shift.
  • Must be CPR Certified.
  • Ability to observe, to assess, and to record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, provide advice, and train clinical professionals, PA's/FNP's and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Sensitive to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural population from a variety of income levels.
  • Fullfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory reqquirements.
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using electronic health care records EPIC highly desired.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients.
  • Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.
  • Care team responsibilities as outlined in the Care Team Patient Center Medical Home Procedures.
  • In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. Requirement begins after 90-day training period. Requirement begins after 90-day training period and compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer.
  • In addition to regularly schedule shifts, is available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year and pager call responsibilities.
