Overview PrimeHealthCare Central Maine Medical Center's well-established Hospital Medicine Fellowship offers FM/IM graduates the opportunity to train with our hospital medicine team in collaboration with the family medicine residency program. The one-year fellowship emphasizes the core principles of hospital medicine, as well as focused rotations in critical care, medical subspecialties, and palliative care. The fellow engages in a longitudinal, mentored quality improvement project and provides teaching and leadership to the residents. Past fellows have had numerous state and national presentations and publications, and are engaged in successful Hospital Medicine careers. Responsibilities Hospitalist positions to not come with traditional call . There is in house scheduled shift work only. We do have a back up system for emergency and high volume coverage, which is 1-2 days per month. Shift model - 156 hours a month for full time, 7am - 7pm. ICU is covered by pulmonary critical care physicians. No procedures required, but we do have a proceduralist service and opportunities to pursue procedure work if that is of interest to you. Admissions per shift - Average census is 15-16 patients in 10 hour rounding shift, plus 1-2 admission for rounding services (admissions are typically assisted by triage APP).
