Visas Accepted N/A Specialty Gastroenterology Practice Details Sanford Clinic is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our successful, well-established team of 5 physicians and 5 advance practice providers. • ERCP required, EUS preferred • Inpatient APP support, including daily rounding, patient management, and coordination of care with the GI hospitalist team. • 24/ hour call shifts • 144 shifts per year considered a 1.0 FTE to enhance work life balance • Area served includes Bismarck/Mandan metropolitan along with western ND and portions of eastern Montana • EMR: EPIC • Perform a limited number of outpatient procedures, mainly EUS and ERCPs based on department needs. • Collaboration with ED and hospitalists to provide inpatient consults and procedures as needed Community Description As the capital city of North Dakota, Bismarck is truly one of a kind. Centrally located in the state, Bismarck borders the east side of the Missouri River and has a neighborhood full of friendly people. Job Description Gastroenterology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examinations, admit (if applicable to the setting), provide consultative services, evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to adolescent and adult patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the stomach, intestines, and related structure, such as the esophagus, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas including biopsies.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a fellowship shall provide his/her fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in 50 gastroenterology cases in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in 50 gastroenterology cases in the last 12 months.
  • Successful completion Internal Medicine residency program, and completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
  • ERCP required
