Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist to join their staff at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. • • • Join staff including 8 general cardiologists, 3 electrophysiologists, 5 interventional cardiologists and 2 cardiothoracic surgeons as well as 12 advanced practice providers. • • On-call is split evenly among the general cardiologists • • Enjoy a busy revolving schedule covering hospital/consult service, clinic, and echo/nuclear/CT/PET labs and reading. Hospital service is supported by advanced practice providers. Cardiology Core Privileges include the privileges to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services for adult patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways: An applicant who has just completed a fellowship shall provide his/her residency or fellowship log. Please see criteria at the following link www.acc.org. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of 100 cardiology procedures. Applicants that are level 2 and 3 Cardiologist (Invasive or Interventional Cardiologist) must also include 50 cardiac catheterizations as primary operator during the past two years with satisfactory quality data (if applicable to practice). OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical activity for the past 24 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of 100 Cardiology procedures. Applicants that are level 2 and 3 Cardiologist (Invasive or Interventional Cardiologist) must also include 50 cardiac catheterizations as primary operator during the past two years with satisfactory quality data (if applicable to practice).
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program and completion of a fellowship in Cardiology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
  • The Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors may consider training at residency or fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty /subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
