About The Position

GPH's Health Care for the Homeless team is seeking a part time PA to join our highly collaborative and integrated team. Our program provides medical, behavioral health, and substance use treatment on the street, in shelters, at housing first locations, and in a traditional medical clinic. One nuance of our program, compared to other HCH sites, is that in addition to serving the needs of the traditionally (episodically or chronically) homeless we also provide care to many patients who might have never received any prior health care. To make sure we meet the changing needs of our patient populations our team has needed to be flexible in how and where we provide care. Our philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate Program with a Maine State license to practice medicine and have a valid DEA number
• At least two years' experience as a Physician Associate strongly preferred
• Board Certification by the American Academy of Physician Associates or American College of Physician Associates upon graduation.
• Be able to be credentialed at assigned hospitals and contractible on Greater Portland Health insurance plans.
• Must not be excluded from participation in federal health care programs
