About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) is certified by the State Board of Medicine (or State Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners) to provide medical services under the direction of the supervising physician. The PA augments the physician’s data gathering abilities in order to assist the supervising physician in reaching and instituting care plans for the physician’s patients. The PA provides patient medical screenings to determine medical attention, reviews patient medical records to determine health status, obtains patient medical history, and performs history and physical examinations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description as well as the criteria established by the medical staff. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. PA must be available to work in all treatment setting, including children, adolescents, adults and dually diagnosed patients. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required. Requirements

  • Certified PA in the State of Pennsylvania
  • 2 years relevant clinical experience in a medical setting.
  • Must possess relevant clinical knowledge of the medical and psychiatric needs of all age groups, including age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and CPR training.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Physical agility to manage patients.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred.
  • Preferably working with behavioral health patients.
