About Transplant & Oncology Infectious Disease Specialists of Georgia
Patients undergoing a transplant, who have cancer, or are getting cancer treatment, often have a higher risk of getting an infection. Your immune system helps your body protect itself from getting an infection. However, after a bone marrow transplant your immune system is weak and at risk for infection. Additionally, cancer and chemotherapy can damage your immune system by reducing the number of infection-fighting white blood cells.

Requirements

• A college degree as a Physician’s Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school
• Please refer to the Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.

Nice To Haves

• Two to five years of experience with a medical practice setting where diagnosis, treatment and patient education were the focus of the role

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, and with medical consultation and direction, performs physical, psycho-social assessment
• Establishes medical diagnosis
• Orders and evaluate diagnostic tests
• Manages follow up care
• Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting lab tests and results, along with providing preventative healthcare and counseling.
