About The Position

Job Summary: The Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting a Physician Assistant. This full time Physician Assistant will join a growing clinical team of general and developmental pediatricians, and advanced practice providers. Responsibilities include pediatric primary care ambulatory services focused mainly at our Sugar House Health Center and development and autism evaluations in our Child Development Program. Additional services at other locations may be required, depending on clinical need. The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with the entire care team to deliver excellent primary care. Requirements

  • Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in pediatrics, including primary care and/or developmental pediatrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in healthcare delivery teams.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.

Responsibilities

  • The Physician Assistant will provide pediatric primary care ambulatory services at our Sugar House Health Center and development and autism evaluations at our Child Development Program, in collaboration with a team of physicians, medical assistants, and care managers.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, making diagnoses, creating and managing treatment plans and documenting clinical encounters.
  • Participation in clinic(s) and division quality improvement initiatives.
