About The Position

Health Ministries Clinic (HMC) is seeking a mission-driven Family Medicine Physician Assistant to join our integrated care team in Newton, KS. As part of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), you'll deliver outpatient primary care in collaboration with your physician, behavioral health providers, nurses, and care coordinators. Duties include prescribing medications and administering treatments, monitoring the patient's progress, making any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan, referring patients to specialists as needed, and conducting diagnostic tests to determine the underlying cause of the patient's symptoms. You'll focus on whole-person, evidence-based care, without the pressures of excessive on-call duties. Supported by a strong clinical team and modern in-house resources, you'll be empowered to make a real impact on the lives of individuals and families in our community.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice as a P.A. in Kansas (or eligible)
  • Prior experience in Primary Care (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) preferred
  • Ability to read EKGs required
  • Ability to do blood draws and IV lines preferred
  • Commitment to providing care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work late Tuesday nights until 7:00pm

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Primary Care (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine)
  • Ability to do blood draws and IV lines

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct outpatient primary care services to patients age 18 and over
  • Collaborate with behavioral health and nursing teams in an integrated care model
  • Use evidence-based protocols to manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Foster long-term relationships with patients and support lifestyle changes
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Document care using our electronic health record system
