About The Position

The APC (Physician Assistant PA-C or Advanced Practice Nurse APN-BC RNFA) will primarily provide outpatient clinical care within The Valley Hospital Breast Program, managing patients with benign and malignant breast conditions. The PA will work collaboratively with a breast surgeon and multidisciplinary team, while also supporting surgical and inpatient care as needed. Serves on call and weekend as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/Masters in Nursing.
• Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Registered Nurse First Assist (RFNA)certification if assisting in OR.
• Hold a valid, current New Jersey license.
• Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience in breast surgery and breast care.
• BLS & ACLS certification
