About The Position

This is an open continuous announcement. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Duties include history and physical, admission, discharge and discharge summary, evaluation, assess, diagnose, treat, manage, monitor, promote health, protect from disease, manage illnesses and injuries. Assess, stabilize, determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Core Scope of Practice: Medication management Wound Care and simple wound closure Consultation/referrals Screening and counseling to individuals/appropriate populations Women's health, including illnesses, disorders and injuries of the female reproductive and genitourinary systems, pelvic and breast exams, performing pap smears and interpreting reports. Preventive screening based on age and history. Acute and chronic diseases of the elderly, including dementias, as well as functional assessment, physiologic and psychologic aspects of senescence and end-of-life care Performance of screening evaluation for psychiatric disorders, emotional aspects of non-psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, alcoholism, substance abuse and violence. Ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory tests Order ancillary services including, but not limited to pharmacy, physical, occupational and speech therapy, nutrition, prosthetics, etc Obtain and document informed consent for the treatment or procedure for which the PA-C is responsible Perform simple foreign body removal Closure using sutures, Incision and drainage of abscesses, Simple skin biopsies or excisions, Aspiration and injection of joints Complete Goals of Care Conversation and write orders for Life Sustaining Treatment Decisions including DNR/DNAR order.
