Physician Assistant Critical Care
About The Position
The Critical Care PA will provide direct clinical services to critically ill patients with multi-organ or multi-system disease failure in adult surgical, and medical ICU's. The PA will work an alternate rotating schedule of nights and weekends. Responsibilities include: Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician Assess patients’ change in status and institute appropriate interventions Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient’s clinical status
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York
- NCCPA(certified)
- DEA license/CPR-BLS/NPI/NCC PA required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
Nice To Haves
- Concentration in Critical Care/ Emergency Medicine and Master’s Degree preferred
- Prior experience as a PA in Critical Care a plus
