Position Highlights: Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is actively recruiting a Physician’s Assistant to assist in the Orthopedic Clinic alongside a busy Orthopedic surgeon. The job combines independent and collaborative practice in the office and assisting with surgery in the hospital and ambulatory surgery setting. Qualified candidates must be available between the hours of 8a-5p and will require weekend phone On Call coverage. On Call duties are evenly split amongst the group of PAs. Requirements

Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Current Licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners OR Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board

Responsibilities

Assisting the orthopedic surgeons in the clinic setting
Conducting new and existing patient orthopedic examinations
Developing treatment plans, adjusting and prescribing medications
Performing in-clinic procedures, conducting pre-operative assessments
Explaining the surgical procedure to the patient
Assisting the orthopedic surgeon in the OR on an as needed basis and conducting hospital rounds
