This role involves evaluating, planning, directing, and administering Physical Therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician, with a focus on optimizing patient safety and reducing medical/health care errors. The position requires skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with an expected 50% and 50% split, though actual usage will depend on access, volumes, and departmental needs. The therapist should be flexible and responsive to providing care in alternative settings such as the Emergency Department, PACU, Express Care, or other identified areas of need. Familiarity with best practices and the latest evidence for common ambulatory clinic pathologies (e.g., degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, general orthopedics, post-operative care) is required. Additionally, familiarity with best practices and common treatments for inpatient and swing rehabilitation pathologies (e.g., orthopedics, neurological conditions, asthenia due to illness, general pathophysiology of common diseases like Pneumonias, Cancers, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis) is essential. Proficiency in common treatment techniques such as manual therapy, neuro rehab techniques, exercise modalities, and the use of functional activities to help patients reach maximum function is also expected. While specialty therapy certifications are not required, they may enhance consideration.
