About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process of residents recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • strong communication abilities, which are essential for effectively interacting with residents, families, and the therapy team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary for assisting residents with exercises and mobility tasks throughout the day.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for accurately documenting patient progress and ensuring compliance with treatment protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • experience in a rehabilitation setting, enhance the PTA's ability to adapt treatment plans based on the unique needs of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve residents' strength, flexibility, and mobility.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress and responses to treatment, reporting any changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and strategies for maintaining physical health.
  • Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and in good working condition.
