About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process of residents recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. This position involves working closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans that enhance mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall physical function. Requirements

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• strong communication abilities, which are essential for effectively interacting with residents, families, and the therapy team.
• Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary for assisting residents with exercises and mobility tasks throughout the day.
• Attention to detail is crucial for accurately documenting patient progress and ensuring compliance with treatment protocols.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• experience in a rehabilitation setting, enhance the PTA's ability to adapt treatment plans based on the unique needs of each resident.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve residents' strength, flexibility, and mobility.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and responses to treatment, reporting any changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and strategies for maintaining physical health.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and in good working condition.
