About The Position

The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position involves working under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to implement treatment plans that improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and prevent disability. The PTA will engage directly with patients, providing therapeutic exercises, modalities, and education to support their recovery goals. Success in this role requires a compassionate approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt treatments to individual patient needs. Ultimately, the PTA contributes significantly to enhancing patients' quality of life and functional independence through evidence-based physical therapy interventions.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an APTA approved associates degree program.
  • Current licensure in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in outpatient, inpatient, or rehabilitation settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver age-appropriate therapeutic interventions, evaluate patient responses to treatment, and adapt care plans to promote positive outcomes, functional independence, and patient satisfaction.
  • Accurately document patient care, progress, education, and discharge planning in accordance with MRHC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, safety precautions, and home care techniques to support ongoing rehabilitation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and equipment maintenance standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
