Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Registered as Physical Therapy Assistant with New Hampshire’s Board of Nursing.
  • A minimum of two years therapy assistant experience, either hospital or clinic experience.
  • Registered as Physical Therapist Assistant with New Hampshire’s Board of Nursing.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Satisfactory criminal record.
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance.
  • Must be able to work one weekend a month and share in holiday rotation working one winter and one summer holiday a year.

Responsibilities

  • Implements physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with supervising physical therapist.
  • Reinforces therapeutic plan following discharge by instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
  • Communicates need for changes in patients goals to supervising physical therapist.
  • Effectively communicates all aspects of patient care to appropriate team members; contacting team manager as needed.
  • Communicates patient’s progress or need for discharge to supervising physical therapist.
  • Takes lead role in educating patient and caregivers on proper body mechanics.
  • Documents in patient electronic records by assigned deadlines.
