About The Position

Working as part of the patient care team the Physical Therapy Assistant will provide services to members within the scope of practice.  Help the patient to alleviate suffering from injury or disease, restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, prevent and or limit permanent physical disabilities and promote fitness and health. Per treatment plan developed by Physical Therapist apply modalities: Massage to increase muscle condition Ice application to reduce swelling Health application to relieve pain Use of therapeutic equipment Teach patients how to use equipment Teach patients how to exercise Teach patients/family how to use and care for wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, artificial limbs, etc. Keep and maintain accurate/timely patient records Write and provide reports of patient progress to others involved in care and treatment of patient Be familiar with Employer contracts with hospital facilities, urgent cares, specialists and ancillary vendors and use only preferred providers.. Provide physical and /or telephonic availability to patients as assigned by Employee. Provide for the medical needs for patients seen in the Urgent Care or Clinic settings within the scope of practice Timely communication to the PCP for all medical services provided for patients Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid credential as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Current CPR certification.
