About The Position

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, incumbents independently initiate and perform patient treatments using various procedures, modalities and instructions. In addition, will perform related patient care activities such as removing & reapplying dressings, providing transportation, providing patient education, completing daily progress notes, and ensuring accurate charge entry. Prepares schedules for patients' treatment, and cleans and disinfects equipment as needed. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0 to 21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire if qualify for CCS paneling requirement. Attends discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Assures that the non CCS paneled therapists/ therapy assts and Rehab Techs will be supervised by a CCS paneled therapist for the care provided to children aged 0-21.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must possess current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License
  • Must possess PTA Advanced Proficiency Pathway certification as recognized by the APTA in one of the following areas: Acute Care, Cardiovascular/pulmonary, Geriatrics, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics. Or must possess a Certified Wound Care Associate recognized by the ABWM.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum of ten years experience as a licensed PTA and the ability to treat 3 or more types of patient conditions (CVA, SCI, TBI, Peds, Ortho, burns, hand etc.)
  • If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0 to 21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire if qualified for CCS paneling requirement
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
