About The Position

Morrison Center is seeking a Part-Time Physical Therapist for a Special Purpose Private School, in Scarborough Maine. Full-Time or Part-Time Options available. Morrison Center’s Special Purpose Private School provides a trauma-informed, holistic educational experience for students with autism, physical disabilities, cognitive delays, and behavioral challenges. Our team-based model emphasizes experiential learning, functional life skills, and unconditional positive regard. Requirements

  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Maine (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
  • Pediatric or school-based PT experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and student-centered therapeutic approaches
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
  • Ability to contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team and school community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct PT services tailored to each student’s goals and IEP requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote motor development, mobility, and physical independence.
  • Monitor and document student progress using data-driven strategies and electronic record systems.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and family consultations to provide professional input and guidance.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging therapeutic and educational setting.
  • Provide training and consultation to classroom staff on positioning, mobility, and safe physical support.
