About The Position

This position is available at the following locations: Western Region Pocahontas State Correctional Center - Pocahontas, VA Marion Correctional Treatment Center - Marion, VA Green Rock Correctional Center - Chatham, VA Central Region Coffeewood Correctional Center- Mitchells, VA Eastern Region Greensville Correctional Center - Jarrett, VA Provide physical therapy services to patient inmates. Services include outpatient orthopedics as well as Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation/Acute care. Provide physical therapy evaluations, progress notes, updated plans of care, and discharges. Collaborate with other Physical Therapy (PT) clinic team members and medical staff to improve patient care. Assist in Physical Therapy Quality Improvement Measures and Data Collections. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department. This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited Physical therapy Program
  • Current Physical Therapy license in Virginia
  • Experience evaluating and treating patients with various acute and chronic orthopedic dysfunctional
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to play an active role collaborating with other medical professionals to provide optimum care

  • Experience in patient centered program development within rehabilitation setting
  • Clinical experience in multiple settings such as outpatient orthopedic, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or acute facilities
