About The Position

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a part time Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team (18 hours per week.) The Physical Staff Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.

Requirements

• Education necessary to obtain License in State of Practice
• Pennsylvania PT License
• BLS

Responsibilities

• Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care
• Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the patient and their family.
• Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as mentoring and providing education to students and other professionals.
• Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation.
