About The Position

Morrison Center is seeking a Part-Time Physical Therapist for a Special Purpose Private School, in Scarborough Maine. Full-Time or Part-Time Options available. Morrison Center’s Special Purpose Private School provides a trauma-informed, holistic educational experience for students with autism, physical disabilities, cognitive delays, and behavioral challenges. Our team-based model emphasizes experiential learning, functional life skills, and unconditional positive regard.

Requirements

Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Maine (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
Pediatric or school-based PT experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and student-centered therapeutic approaches
Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Ability to contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team and school community.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Deliver direct PT services tailored to each student’s goals and IEP requirements.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote motor development, mobility, and physical independence.
Monitor and document student progress using data-driven strategies and electronic record systems.
Participate in IEP meetings and family consultations to provide professional input and guidance.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging therapeutic and educational setting.
Provide training and consultation to classroom staff on positioning, mobility, and safe physical support.
