About The Position

As a Physical Therapist, you will complete evaluations and provide weekly therapy for young children between 0-3 years old who may have developmental delays. Requirements

  • A Current Physical Therapy license from the State of California Physical Therapy Board.
  • Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from an approved program by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Minimum one (1) year PT experience. Minimum one (1) year pediatrics experience (birth to 5 years of age).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Must have valid California Driver’s license, safe driving record, and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Must obtain CPR/FA certification if not already certified (we offer training for new hires).
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Collaborative-minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form positive, supportive, and professional working relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to ensure accuracy of program documents and paperwork.
  • Ability to manage work time efficiently and meet deadlines without close supervision.
  • Ability to maintain cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with differing attitudes and lifestyles.

Nice To Haves

  • Read, write, speak, and understand the Spanish language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews collateral and intake information provided.
  • Evaluates child's ability to move and perform functional activities.
  • Completes intake paperwork, assessments, reports, and treatment plans with identified children and their families.
  • Assists in the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Schedules, plans, and conducts home visits with assigned families to carry out treatment plans and IFSP goals.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with families and members of the ID team to coordinate program services.
  • Prepares, collects, and maintains educational information files, records, case notes, and documentation from outside agencies.
  • Conducts research related to families’ needs for service and provides resources and educational information.
  • Travels throughout Imperial county to complete sessions in family homes and other community locations.
