About The Position

Join our Reno Orthopedic Center team as a Physical Therapist! ROC offers dedicated, flexible ramp-up time, patient volume control, protected documentation time, and flexible schedules (e.g., 4/10s). Base pay is always guaranteed, with performance-based biannual bonuses that do not impact base pay. There are many growth opportunities, including dedicated CME funds ($2,500 annually), lead therapist roles, and an Orthopedic Residency Program. The center also provides student loan repayment funds ($10k), relocation assistance ($5k), and a retention bonus ($15k) in some locations. New graduates are welcome, and PT Compact privileges are accepted. The target caseload is 2 patients per hour (1:2), with flexibility. ROC uses Epic GardenPlot as its EMR and is exploring AI dictation. New hires receive a named mentor, and there are no productivity penalties for no-show appointments. Quick authorizations are handled by a dedicated therapy authorizations team. Requirements

  • Active Nevada Physical Therapy license from Nevada State Board within 60 days of employment
  • Directing employee’s work including reviewing clinic flow and adjusting priorities
  • Deescalating tense situations with customers
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of employees (professional staff, managerial staff, front line staff, etc.) to resolve issues and concerns
  • Using computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, entering data and typing

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage and clinic flow and approve timecards accordingly
  • Supervise and lead direct reports by motivating, inspiring, and supporting staff to a higher level of engagement, productivity, and quality outcomes
  • Conduct performance reviews, review work and perform corrective action as necessary
  • Provide training and other educational and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Interview and select candidates to fill vacant support positions
  • Resolve escalated situations as needed including complaints and incident reports from patients, direct reports, and physicians
  • Develop and maintain effective communication within the organization
  • Collaborate with other supervisor level staff within the organization
  • Be a champion and a positive change agent for the organization’s mission, vision, guiding principles and initiatives
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients
  • Review physician’s referral and patient’s medical records and confer with patient and appropriate medical practitioners to plan, implement, and assess the intervention program
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation
  • Test, measure and record in patient’s electronic medical record the patient’s strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory and/or circulatory efficiency
  • Analyze patient progress and data, record in electronic medical record and modify interventions to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes, including referring to other practitioners as needed
  • Educate patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote health
  • Instruct patient in use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes as well as in treatment procedures to be continued at home
  • Discharge patient from therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained; provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals
