The Physical Therapist will examine the patient’s medical history, evaluating their physical abilities and determine their potential to respond to therapy and develop a comprehensive treatment plan while integrating company values into daily practice. This role is PRN and will work day shifts as needed J ob Duties include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in inpatient hospital setting, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Current state license as a Physical Therapist in good standing is required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and establishes plan of care; also evaluates the efficacy of treatment, modifying if necessary.
  • Conducts all therapy practice within defined standards of care.
  • Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in accordance with Hospital requirements and established guidelines.
  • Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signature. Doing so in a timely manner
  • Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff.
  • Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress including preparing plan for discharge.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
  • Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
