About The Position

Saco Bay Kids is an interdisciplinary team of experienced professionals including occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, feeding therapists, pelvic floor therapists and patient service specialists. Their pediatric outpatient clinic in Kennebunk is seeking a dedicated clinician to join their dynamic and supportive team. They strive to create individualized care plans that empower children, make therapy fun and support families every step of the way, working closely with patients and their families to help kids achieve their goals. This opportunity offers interdisciplinary collaboration, a family-centered approach, and a diverse caseload treating a wide range of pediatric diagnoses such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, global developmental delays, toe walking, gait abnormality, flat feet, in-toeing, and hypotonia. Therapists also assist children in receiving equipment like wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, and car seats. The environment is supportive, offering mentorship, continuing education, and a culture that encourages professional development and friendships. The work is purpose-driven, aiming to make a lasting impact on children’s mobility, independence, and quality of life, with opportunities for growth and specialization in areas like pediatric pelvic floor.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physical Therapist with a passion for pediatrics
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for working with children and their families
  • Desire to work with a large, interdisciplinary team
  • Creative, outgoing therapist to make therapy fun!
  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
  • Current State physical therapist license or eligibility for licensure in the State of practice
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how PTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
  • Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency, and duration of physical therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
  • Supervise and delegate physical therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and complete patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Stay current and up to date with Physical Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
