Position Summary As a Physical Therapist in our NICU, you will provide specialized, evidence-based care to premature and medically fragile infants. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team-including neonatologists, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists-to optimize developmental outcomes and support family-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Tennessee Physical Therapist license (or eligibility).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in neonatal or pediatric physical therapy.
  • Knowledge of developmental care principles and NICU protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized physical therapy interventions for neonates in the NICU.
  • Assess motor development, positioning, and movement patterns to promote optimal growth.
  • Educate and support families on developmental care strategies.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Document patient progress accurately in EPIC and maintain compliance with hospital standards.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information from formal and informal assessment that is pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum.
  • Applies appropriate, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and re-evaluates performance to assess patient's progress towards goals.
  • Employs strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.
