About The Position

The Role: As a Physical Therapist with DDI’s Early Childhood Services division you will be a vital component of robust interdisciplinary team that is driven to ensure the most optimal outcomes for the students you support. Our Physical Therapists are responsible for providing all aspects of Physical Therapy services to your assigned caseload. This includes providing direct services, screenings, assessments and evaluations and completing all required documentation. What You'll Do: Evaluate, assess or screen clients using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observational skills. Provide physical therapy services according to mandated paperwork (i.e. IEP’s, IFSP etc). Provide required documentation for services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for you. Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable and confidential manner. Attend all meetings as scheduled and collaborate with other professionals, staff and families. Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education. Maintain NYS Licensure in Physical Therapy Evaluate, fit and adjust prosthetic, orthotic and adaptive equipment devices. Consult with equipment technicians, physicians or others related to the client’s needs. All other duties as assigned. Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of children. Ability to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on changing table. Must be able to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopement. Must be able to position self or maneuver classroom to facilitate student instruction in classroom and playground environment. Must have ability to follow oral and written directions and detect/respond to fire alarms. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs with railing. Requirements
