Requirements

Degree from a certified physical therapy assistant training program
Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
Current CPR certification

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries

Responsibilities

Assist patients in exercise, ambulation, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist
Assist Physical Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by Physical Therapist
Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the APTA Practice Act and Code of Ethics
Perform other duties as assigned
