About The Position

Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Home Health team. This position provides high-quality rehabilitative services to patients in their homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA plays a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, increase independence, and improve overall functional outcomes. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current, active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Kansas.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned service area.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Home Health experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation for Home Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services in accordance with the plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and other skilled interventions.
  • Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
  • Accurately complete required documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with agency policy and Medicare guidelines.
  • Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques.
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and all federal and state home health regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
