About The Position

The Physical Therapist Clinician II is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations. The Physical Therapist Clinician II provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas. #Tower

Requirements

Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist
Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy

Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy

Responsibilities

Patient evaluation and implementation of intervention programs
Discharge planning
Ordering equipment
Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences
Scheduling and charging patients
Employee may have supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, students, and volunteers
Employee is a senior member of a self-directed team and applies his knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving.
The team will bring unresolved issues to departmental manager for assistance and guidance in their resolution.
Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department or have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient population needs.
